let me speak to you today..

day 8 - soul for sale

June 17, 2010

As i walk my way home on the campus grounds someone approached me and asked if i could be disturbed for a while. I  paused and said “why?” she then respond asking if i could contribute something for their foundation by purchasing a card with moving Christ image when you flip it. She’s saying that the money she will get from me will go for the schooling of less fortunate childrens and medical missions. I continued walking and explain to her that I myself don’t even know how i could sustain my own education. She said that we are in struggle because we forgot our responsibilities and purpose. I asked what is our purpose. She then said that since Adam and Eve commited a sin, our bloodline is tainted with sin and if i bought her stuff i will be restored to God’s glory. I look at her and said “So you are telling me that i am going to be clean if i buy that card?” She denied it and found a way to talk about my responsibilty for myself, my family and the church as our purpose in life. Yeah yeah wtf. I continued to walk away and she said that she already restored me in God’s grace. WTF! As we reached the intersection and i need to cross the street she paused with the intent of not following me anymore. I asked how much the card was and she answered “fifty”

Yes you heard it right, my soul costs fifty. I began to recall my lesson in history class that during the spanish colonial era wherein the rich families are paying the prayles for them to go to heaven. And i think the woman talking to me is the 18th ressurection of that spanish priest and thinking she can fool me by using religion for her lousy gimmick. I then told her that God forgives regardless if i buy it or not. She then replied that she already done her part for me and it is up to me choose what to do. So after using the stuff as the cleansing tool for my soul, and after telling me that she already restored me, now she’s using guilt so i would give in. What the heck.

Another annoying thing that spreads in the web today is the definition of  “jejemon”  it says that “jejemon”  comes from the greek word “jejerius” meaning “follower” or “doer” and “moninius” meaning “demon” so in short, follower of devil. Come on, jejemons as it is described are people who type misspelled words that are hard to decipher. They didn’t even give that term to name themselves. It is those who hates them for subtituting J for H when typing laughter, jeje (hehe). So eef ay t4yp l!ke th!$, i am a follower of a demon?. There’s no sense in making up a story for those who you hate so others would hate them as well. Worse, those who easily believe the story will think that they really are a follower of demon. Who knows, he might avoid someone he knows personally because that person used to be a jejemon.

When everyone is manipulating our thoughts, our beliefs, let us all ask for proofs. Let us not believe hearsays as if they are real facts. Let’s be concius when someone is trying to take control of our actions by making us believe about what they’re saying. We are human beings, we need to be convinced first. Let’s look at the proofs and evidence before we believe everything.

That’s why I lost my faith in religion. But that doesn’t mean I am already an atheist.

Nice Entry. Good day. =)
